General Plumbing York: Local, Not a Call Centre

Does it matter whether the business is family run?
DM Plumbing Services is a family run business, based in and around York and the surrounding areas. That means the person who answers is connected to the person who arrives.
A booking line passes your job to whoever is free and takes a margin. That costs time at the point where time is the thing you have least of. Ringing a local firm directly removes the middle of that.
How do I find a good plumber?
Ask locally, then check three things: the qualifications, the insurance, and whether the workmanship is guaranteed. All three are easy to answer honestly. DM Plumbing Services works with City and Guilds qualified plumbers, holds 2 million pounds of public liability cover and guarantees workmanship for 12 months.
What counts as property maintenance?
It covers the jobs that are too small for a specialist and too many to ignore. Light bulbs, fence repairs, broken tiles, new locks, blocked gutters, painting and decorating. Size is not the deciding factor.
The point is doing them all in one visit rather than six. Property maintenance in and around the York area is DM Plumbing Services work, charging no call out fee, at a competitive hourly rate.
What is the average lifespan of a macerating toilet?
It depends far more on what has been put through it than on the years, which is why two identical units can differ enormously. One used properly lasts a long time, and one fed wipes does not last a year.
Can you have an outside tap fitted in York?
The job is a tee off the indoor blocked toilet in Bishopthorpe cold pipe, a core through the wall, and the tap outside. The important bit is in the middle: an indoor isolating valve and a backflow prevention device.
Without the indoor valve you cannot drain it down in the autumn. Water left in it freezes, and the split is rarely somewhere convenient. DM Plumbing Services lists outside taps among the work it does.
